Juror
Sheen Watkins, her husband Dave and their two dogs moved to Northport, Michigan in 2019. In 2020, while in the Upper Peninsula, they were inspired to hit the open road for photography and adventure. Today, they travel three to four months a year in their camper across the country and
Michigan.
Sheen’s photography started with a surprise gift of a camera from Dave. Initially, her focus was on photographing birds. As the photography bug took hold, she expanded her subjects to landscape, travel, macro and creative photography.
For several years, she was a photographer and writer for Lightstalking, a global site dedicated to the photography craft, and for Loaded Landscapes.
She has served as a juror for the Motor City Camera Club for several years while living downstate. Her photography continues to be featured by the Audubon Society, the Nature Conservancy, Leelanau Conservancy, travel magazines and social media. She has been a MI State Photo Ambassador in 2022 and 2023.
Her work today includes photography mentoring and individual and small group workshops. You can find her images in her Etsy shop, her website, blog and YouTube channel in addition to Instagram and Facebook.
The exhibition is open to all current members of the Charlevoix Photography Club and others who wish to participate. Cash prizes will be given for first, second and third place images in each of the six categories. The juror will also select, at her discretion, images deemed appropriate for Honorable Mention.
